Description
The Dade ® Dimertest ® Latex Assay is intended for the rapid qualitative or semiquantitative evaluation of circulating derivatives of cross-linked fibrin (XDP) in human plasma. A highly specific monoclonal antibody to D-dimer is attached to latex beads. Visible agglutination of the latex particles in the presence of D-dimer is a positive indication of fibrinolysis. The threshold of detection of the Dade ® Dimertest ® Latex Assay is adjusted, using the same monoclonal antibody in an enzyme immunoassay for purified human D-dimer fragment, to give a positive agglutination at a plasma concentration of approximately 0.20 µg/mL cross-linked fibrin derivatives containing D-dimers.
